from Borzoi Past Group, Sue E.A. Vasick: <<A beautiful irish marked orange sable with black mask, Matalona Tawny Owl was bred and owned by Eileen Ruggles of the Matalona kennel in England. She was whelped October 12, 1974, and from a repeat breeding which produced Matalona Nightsong Hawk, who came to America. Owl was sired by Francehill Warlord out of Deanlands Anna of Matalona, and was the dam of three litters from 1976 through 1978. One daughter from the 1977 litter went to the Leicros kennel in Sweden, while other offspring also bred on for various kennels.
from Borzoi Past Group, Sue E.A. Vasick: <When Cherry Wine of Keepers was imported from England, I'm sure her new owners had no idea what an impact she would make on the breed. She was sired by Rodgivad Hasty and out of Falconcrag Birgatoz and was a tri spotted bitch with very rich brown points. Born in 1973, as a two year old she was bred to her paternal grandsire, Keepers Romance, and two of those offspring went on the continue the bloodline. Her son, Equinox Crichton of Kostenov, sired one litter but unfortunately contracted diabetes insipidus and had to be put to sleep.
from Borzoi Past Group, Sue E.A. Vasick: <American Ch. Crescent's Genian Equinox is well known to Crescent fans; Jenny was sired by Crescents Arctic Glacier out of Equinox Ariadne, and was an elegant, more refined version of her dam overall. Born in 1979, she was very sweet, and a grand brood bitch, producing four litters for Crescent, three of them linebred and one inbred to her sire. She's easily found behind Borzoi today in North America. Pictured at seven years of age.>>
