Regal kennels in Victoria, Australia photographed in 1934. Ch Silver Queen bred by B Brooks was born 29/6/1932 by Grand Ch Rooskaya Cossacky (Grand Ch Autocrat (Imp UK) x Ch Vanda of Romanoff a daughter of Grand Ch Ripley Betty (Imp UK) x Princess Leonora from old Australian lines.

Ch Princess Diana bred by Mrs S Rebottaro was born 11 May 1928 by Grand Ch Zodiac (Imp UK) x Ch Sonia also from old Australian lines.

Regal kennels commenced showing with two other dogs about 1930 then obtained Princess Natalie bred by Mrs R Verrall. Natalie was born 28/11/1929 by Grand Ch Autocrat (Imp UK) x Natalie of Strone and gained her Australian champion title before being sold to New Zealand. She is the first Australian Borzoi to become a champion in two countries. Regal also owned Donny Boy bred in NSW at Alkoomie kennels. He was also sired by Grand Ch Rooskaya Cossacky x Ch Countess Czarina.

Regal kennels produced 3 litters by Donny Boy to the bitches in the photo in 1934 then two litters by Ch Siegerin of Stroganoff to the same bitches in 1936. Maisie Huddleston of Moscowa kennels then Perchina in the 1960s obtained Ch Prince Moska of Regal and Ch Countess Olga of Regal from the first two 1934 litters which both became champions. Charlie Venables of Atlas kennels obtained Wolf of Regal from the last litter in 1936.

Both Ch Princess Diana and Ch Silver Queen survive in modern dogs even though Regal was a rather small and short lived kennel pre- world war II which wiped out most of the other bloodlines./Margaret Davis
