Ruby de Bolshoy

from Borzoi Past group, Sue E.A. Vasick: <<A bitch who helped put the Kishniga kennel of Canada on the map was Canadian Ch. Ruby de Bolshoy, bred by Pauline DeRycke and owned by Richard Meen and John Reeve-Newson. Ruby was a dark red sable and white born June 14, 1972, sired by Sirhan Rugay of Wilolea out of Belgian import Strela de la Polianka. She had six litters of puppies from 1974 through 1981, with a great number of her offspring becoming champions and breeding onward. Without a doubt, however, her most important litter was her first in 1974 when bred to Kishniga’s Gallant Anubis, producing the “D” litter which of course contained the great brothers, Desert Song and Dalgarth. Even if only those two offspring bred on, Ruby would become cemented in Borzoi history for all time.>>
