Sergei vom Don was crucial in the continued development of the famed Orlow’s Borzoi in Switzerland. He was born in Switzerland on July 21, 1968 and was a nicely balanced red dog with abundant white trim. His sire was Hajak is Slonowaja and his dam Kazna is Slonowaja, who was owned by Kanel. Sergei sired only two litters, both of them in 1971. One litter was produced at Salamoni’s od Nadyeschda kennel with one daughter breeding on. Margaret Jeker of Orlow’s kennel used him on her Orlow’s Ludmilla and from this litter came the O litter from which three offspring bred on, including Ondrej and Oljana; Sergei carried on through them.
