Bella (Bielka)

There is a description of Bella (known as Bielka in Germany) in the report of the 1896 dog show in St. Petersburg, when she was owned by S. Ivanov. I am including a translation of that description to compare with the photo of Bielka taken in Germany.
Bella, owned by S. D. Ivanov, a female hound, three years old, by dogs belonging to Mr. Rousseau. According to the catalogue, she is described as fawn-and-white pied and offered for sale at 30 rubles. In reality, however, she has a rare colouring: dark coffee-coloured pied, with a glossy sheen.
Her head is of medium length, lean and broad across the forehead; her eyes are light-coloured. Her ears are fairly good, with something resembling the burki (a characteristic feature inherited from her Crimean ancestors). She has a very decent back, although somewhat saddle-backed, and a good croup. Her tail is thin and long, turning slightly upwards from almost the middle.
She stands on fairly good forelegs and good, lean hind legs. Having recently whelped, she has shed some of her coat, but it is evident that she will grow back a respectable, soft and glossy coat. She is of rather small stature, measuring approximately 15 vershoks (ca 68 cm).
She has been awarded a bronze medal, which is quite sufficient.
