Report from Skokloster 1988 with a Video

Annilla Nilsson of  kennel Borzowski has sent pictures and information from the borzoi specialty show at Skokloster in Sweden in 1988 and Dan Persson has suplied the result list., nearly 120 borzoi was entered! Thank you both and others who has helped with information!

This was a great show and a great memory for many of us!

Renee Mattheuwsen of kennel Van Troybhiko in Holland judged the massive entry. He gave BOB to Ch Al Wintars United Astrachan, a Norwegian bred and owned dog who at that time was very popular and a big winner. BOS was Yablonaya Kvinnitza bred and owned by the Nylund family.

After the show there was, as almost always when weather permitted, a grill party. It was a possibility to meet, discuss, and discussions there where, all very friendly. Those who had to compete in the group rings the next day had to leave and go to bed rather early, the rest continued the animated discussion until late, late!

In the dogs class we saw Al Wintar’s United Astrachan, a top winning dog bred in Norway by Anne Lise Wintar and owned by Tom Ringnes and Erik Granmark. Grafinja’s Barinjin was bred and owned by Ann-Louise Fonrin while the number three dog, Al Wintar’s Zatyr was bred and owned by Anne Lise Wintar and in fourth place was Majorow’s Jaroslav Jirij, owned by Carina and Stefan Arnberg, kennel Jaroslav.

In the bitch class the winner was Yablonaja Kvinntiza, bred and owned by Pirkko and Ridger Nylund. In second place was Leicro’s Russian Zcatt bred by Lillemor and Conny Croneryd and owned by Annica Nilsson. In third place was Majorow’s Gabrinova, bred and owned by Sig-Britt and Lars-Erik Jansson.

Winner in the puppy class, Schaca is not recorded after this show. The other are all documented in TBE and is shown in the list below except for Ann Egnell’s Ch Russla and Al Wintar’s Alowka!

Best brood bitch and Best Breeders group belonged to Sickan Jansson and the late Lars-Erik Jansson of Majorow’s kennel!
