Boris Cheremeteff

 

Cheremeteff was one of the wealthiest families in Tzarist Russia. They owned land, villages and people. Being so very rich, they also hunted and bred borzoi in the Cheremeteff hunt.

Two of the many members of the family was especially active with borzoi, Count Boris CHEREMETEFF, Count Dimitri CHEREMETEFF did, with Artem Boldareff write the first borzoi standard for the UICL, the European Sighthound club in 1924.
