Wood carvings from a very old church door in Norway. The oldest churches in Norway was built in about 1100 to 1150. It has been said that the animal on this door is a stag or even a dragon. To me it looks very much like a sighthound with tiny ears drown back. At a closer look the “dog/stag” holds an “arm/something” in his mouth. It is quite common for borzoi to “holding hands”.
