Asa Newmar of Rancho Gabriel

American Ch. Asa Newmar of Rancho Gabriel was a splendid bitch bred by Lyle Gillette and owned by Bill Stanton and Lyle Gillette. She was all black with white trim and the palest of cream points, whelped December 14, 1969. I believe her dam, Whirling’s Celeste of Malora, was at the time in Europe while her owners Bill and Diane Harned were stationed overseas, where they bred her to Dutch sire Troyka von Borjoschka. The result was Asa, along with several littermates, most who carried the Rancho Gabriel and Newmar name. Asa produced three litters, and two offspring were bred; the only one who carried on for generatons though was Rancho Gabriel Native Dancer; through her, Asa continued behind Bizzi B/Steppes bloodlines.
