Johnston’s Krilenko

International, American Ch. Johnston’s Krilenko was an influential stud dog for his time he was of O’Valley Farm breeding which went back to important Perchino imports from Russia. His sire was Nazitka Orloff, who was a double grandson of Russian import Zyclon of Perchina [Perchino]. His dam, Johnston’s Zanoza, was a granddaughter of Russian import Bistri of Perchina [Perchino].  Krilenko was a white dog with dark red brindle patches owned by Mrs. Howard Murrell in Louisville, Kentucky, whelped June 4, 1918. He sired a number of quality litters out of various bitches, and was the sire of such important Borzoi as Nazimova and Borloff [Canada], Kuropatkin of Glenwild and Sonia of Tolstoi, who is behind Ajax of Romanoff, among others. He produced a minimum of eleven champions, including a Westminster winner named Morvich.
