Moon Hawk of Malora

Moon Hawk of Malora

From Borzoi Past Group, Sue E.A. Vasick: <<A dog who had a remarkable influence on Borzoi breeding in America in the 1960’s and early 1970’s was American Ch. Moonhawk of Malora, a large apricot dog with white trim bred by Eileen Worthing and owned by Helga Duncan of the Duncan kennel in Oklahoma. Hawk was whelped February 22, 1959, and was of bloodlines from the United Kingdom through both his sire and dam. His sire was the imported Winjones Paskoss and, while his dam Zelda Shaun of Malora was American-bred, she was of English and Scottish breeding. This impressive dog was undefeated in the show ring and then retired to try his hand at racing and as a sire. He succeeded at both, and sired at least 9 litters, many for Duncan and also for Shondar. His name was behind a huge number of successful Borzoi and still can be found if you go back far enough. Hawk died at ten years of age.>>
