Mikhail Vladimirovich Skaryatin , Submitted by Alena Yarygina

Troitskoye village is the ancestral estate of a large noble family of Skaryatins, representatives of an ancient family. The estate was passed on in the family by inheritance.

Barin Mikhail Vladimirovich Skaryatin (the last heir of the estate), who lived in Troitskoye at the beginning of the XX century, had a large kennel where I.S.Turgenev’s sighthounds were kept (nowadays the village of Turgenevka is situated where the kennel was located). Now the village of Troitskoye is on the list of memorable places of Orel region.

I don’t know the origin of these dogs.

The great-grandfather of the last owner of the Troitskoye estate, Mikhail Skaryatin, was Vladimir Skaryatin, who was in the service of the Russian Tsar Alexander II with the rank of huntsman (this is a major court rank). In December 1870, Vladimir Skaryatin died on one of the royal bear hunts, Count Fersen, who shot, turned out to be to blame./ Andrus Kozlov
