Add a borzoi
A new guide is being written. See this as an example!
From the main menu, select Add content and then Borzoi.
This form will show:
A list of already registered borzois is shown. If uncertain you can use the Search box and see if the dog you’re about to add is in the list; if not you will be asked if you want to add it. If you know that the dog is not registered previously, you can press the Add new button.
When the register form opens, you start by giving the name in the Full Name box (Kennel name and the dog’s name but no titles). If there’s no kennel name use just the name. When giving the kennel name, If you use an aphostrophe, be sure to write it the same way for all dogs from that breeder.
Fill in the registration number if you have access to it. In some cases where there’s no kennel name and many dogs with the same name, then the registration number can be what you need to identify the dog. Many dogs are imported or exported to and from other countries. If that’s the case you can use Add another item and state the other registration number(s) in the next box(es).
You can give the dog a Show title from the list. If it’s not in the list, either select the closest title, or don’t give a title but make a report to the editor about what is missing. You or the Editor will have to go back and correct the article when it has been updated. If the dog has more than one title, you can use Add another item and and fill in more titles. You can add several title boxes. When presented they appear on the same line.
Give the dog a Field title (titles) In the same way as with the Show title if applicable.
The box called Other achivements and titles is a text field which you can use for special achievements outside of the normal. Even here you can add more lines.
You can use up to three pictures for each dog you enter, try to keep size down, total size for all is limited to 2 Mb. Make sure there’s no copyright involved. You may use a watermark on your own pictures, but please note that the watermark must not be so dominating that the picture doesn’t show clearly.
In the text box you write the presentation of the dog. You can type directly or paste a copied text. In the text you can add more pictures (try to limit size) and you can make links to external information, be sure there’s no copyright or protection.
If you want to make a link, open a second session of you browser by rightclicking the browsers name, open the program where the information is, select what you want to link to, copy the address. Go back to your presentation, mark the word or the sentence you will link from, select the litle chain on the upper part of the textbox. A new box will appear that asks you to Add link. Paste the address you copied to the URL box and save. The word or the sentence you choose will turn blue and you have established a link.
Next field is the Breeder, click Add person and start typing the name; if the person already is in the database, the name will show on the line below. If it is the right name, click it and it shows in the breeders box. You must click Add person to save it.
If the name is not in the list it must be created you click the button “Create new person” and a form opens for you to fill in nessesary information.
Most important is the name and the countr. You can alsp give the the kennelname if it is know. When finished, scroll down and click “Create new person”. The person is now saved into the database and is available next time he/she occurs as breeder or owner.
If more than one person is listed as breeder you can Add another item and type in the name of the other person(s).
In the Owners field you do the same as with the breeder.
We have two Country fields. One is for Country of birth and the other for Country of standing, meaning the country where the dog lived/lives. It is a drop list and you select the country from the list, you can type the first letter and jump to what come closest. If it doesn’t show, contact the administrator for correcting.
The field Gender must be filled in, you can choose between Male, Female and Unknown.
Select a color. If there’s no color in the base you can use, select the one closest or leave blank, make a report and state what is missing. You will have to go back later when the right value is added and correct your presentation.
Select marking and choose the one that fits. If missing do as with color.
Select attribute if needed. If missing do as above.

To register Sire and Dam you start typing the name. If the name appears on the line below, click it and it fills in.
In this case it was not the right Geroi in the database. You then have the opportunity to click the Import button. A number of Geroi is shown (several more than here). The only one in the right timframe is the one on top, unfortunately it is an unknown dog. I’m quite sure it’s the right dog and I know I can place a question to the experts in the Encyclopedia group and if nessesary go back and change.
To the best of my ability I have finished adding information known to me about this bitch, Sonja von Otzberg.
Mutch of the information I have found in the studbooks.
The Breeder was unknown but is now saved into the database. The next time a dog appears with this person as the breeder or owner we can collect the name.
The owner, R. Schlick was present in the database as owner of a borzoi, Falk Allwind, so he could be selected as is.
Before I save and unpublish this post I select Authoring information and give my name as Authored by. That is so when the editor who will be publishing this shall know that I did this and can contact me if I’ve done things that needs to be looked at. There’s in fact one more reason for editors to look at my presentation as stated below here:
