Alkeste-Ural, Clou-Ural and well-known Borzoi champion and stud dog Amurat-Ural lounge at home of well-known German breeders Else and Dr. Arthur Wegener. The image was published in 1931 as part of a memorial to the Doctor. The Wegeners had begun importing the breed from its native country, including the kennels of the Grand Duke Nicolai Nikolajewitch, in the early 20th century. Wegener published ecstatically on his travels to to see the breed in its home turf.
