Valley Lt Allen

Valley Lieutenant Allen

Picture taken in 1904

From Borzoi Past group, Sue EA Vasick: <Bred in America by H.T. Allen and owned by Valley Farm kennel, Valley Lieutenant Allen was a white dog with heavily sabled red markings, whelped in 1899. His sire was Colonel Dietz, a son of Russian import Leekhoi, whom this dog looks a bit like, and his dam was Fanotka, solidly Russian in her pedigree. Valley Lieutenant Allen sired one litter in 1902 when bred to Endcliffe Duchess, another who carried much old Russian bloodlines. This resulted in a daughter named Catherine The Great, who bred on. This bloodline was found behind some Arkansas Valley dogs, as well as Major II who carried on into Vladeska lines. Interestingly enough, Lieutenant Allen was an ancestor of a great many bloodlines including Malora, Kostenov, Haljeans and Sunbarr, to mention only a few kennels.>
