Grozny (Perchino)

127 years ago, in January 1898, at an exhibition in Moscow, Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich exhibited a lage collection 52 borzois from Pershino kennel. Among them were littermates Grubian and Groznyij, born in 1895 (Charodei I Vasilchikov - Golubka III Ozerov). Both males received a large silver medal, and three, as a pack, together with Ukrasa, a gold medal. Height for males 76 cm. The mother of these males - Golubka was a littermate of Ataman II Ozerov, imported in 1893 to Holland. The dogs' father, Charodei Vasilchikov, was bought in 1895 in Pershino for 2,000 rubles, which was a very high price for a borzoi. These photos are rare, since almost no photographs of borzois from Pershino have survived before 1900. There are some pictures from the early period made by General G.K von Meyer, but they are idealized.
