KD Matveev was said to have taken over 14 borzoi from the abandoned Gatchina hunt and was active from about 1920 to 1935. Matveev should have had an administrative position and played and important role in the restoration of the breed after the revolution. The Matveev name comes back several times over the years as

VV Bardukova bred borzoi before the revolution, in 1915. It seems as she worked with Elisabeth Lichatcheff .

Gubin (PM Gubin) as a kennel/hunt had existed in Russia from as early as in 1870;s. Dogs from the Zhikarev hunt and from Protasyeff hunts were used! AA Gubin was active in about 1909 and had dogs from N Tchelitcheff. After the revolution EG Gubin had dogs from Desor and had own breeding. He played
