Around 1893, the estate in Sviridovo was acquired by Sergei Vladimirovich Ozerov (1859-1903). Since 1894 he was the publisher of the magazine “Psovaya i ruzheynaya okhota” , the second name is “The Family of Hunters”.

Since 1902 he also published a cheap monthly version of the magazine called “Okhota”. The editorial office was located here, in Sviridovo, and consisted of himself and Sasha’s secretary. Some of the articles were written by S.V. Ozerov under various pseudonyms.

Today it is hard to believe, but for 10 years – from 1894 to 1903 – the estate in Sviridovo was one of the hunting “capitals” of the country. The local post office could not cope with the hundreds of correspondence that came from all over the Russian Empire addressed to Ozerov, and more than once had to complain about this to St. Petersburg.

Animal artist A.N. Komarov recalled that the house, decorated with columns and a balcony, was in an old lime park. There was also a kennel where famous greyhounds were bred. In 1902 the book by S.V. Ozerov in two parts “Humorous stories of the Old Bachelor”.

S.V. Ozerov died October 14, 1903. He was buried at the cemetery in Venev (the tombstone was repaired in 2003 by the efforts of the Venev Museum of Local Lore ).
