Borzoi in Norway

 

  1. Where were you born?
    In Sør-Odal, 1945
  2. Can you tell us something about your Background and childhood?
    I grew up in the countryside, with a safe and happy childhood with horses and dogs on a farm.
  3. Imaging/working?
    High school and a year of trade and office.
    I have worked at the employment office for Nedre Romerike, Romerike bus traffic, Asea Brown Boveri (now ABB) and coordinator in Sørum municipality.
  4. Hade your parent dogs?
    Yes, they had Norwegian Buhund and Elkhound
  5. What kind of dogs do you have ejd?
    My first dog was a Dunker (foundling dog), German Shepherds, and since 1983 Borzoier.
  6. Dogs that have inspired you?
    The first borzoi I acquired (Fujenka), who became a Nordic champion and mother of my first litter. Her cohort further gained 3 champions and 2 of the internationals (Rostov Na-Danu and Tblizi L’Vova)
  7. Where did your kennel name come from?

It is a combination of the Tsar and the Taiga, with a twist this becomes Tzartaig, which is a combination of emperor and forest.

  1. Do you have/had a plan with your Birth?
    The intention has been to breed healthy dogs, where temperament was a very important part.
  2. Which of your dogs had the greatest influence on your program?
    Rostov Na-Danu and Desiré Cool Image (American imported)
  3. Which of your dogs do you consider the best?

            Tzartaig Cool Victory (Tony, as we called him)

  1. Were any of the your dogs Champion?
    All my Borzois have become champions, totaling 11 species on 6 litters.
  2. Which attributes/details of the breed do you consider important?
    Health and temperament.
  3. Are there flaws that would prevent you from using an otherwise outstanding dog?
    Disposition
  4. Today’s dogs compared to when you started?
    I don’t think it’s a big change, maybe a little bit in size and gender character.
  5. Have you imported borzoi.
    Yes, Amuri-Pajkos Gorka (she became Nordic champion).
  6. At what age do you choose a puppy?
    Preferably around 4-5 weeks.
  7. What did you feed puppies and adults?
    Vom and Eukanuba.
  8. Have you judged?
    No, I haven’t.
  9. Dogs abroad compared to dogs at home?
    Mostly, I think the dogs are really good.
  10. How did you prepare your dogs for an exhibition?
    Washing, brushing and brushing teeth.
  11. Have your dogs tried bait classes or other activities?

            No, never used in hunting or anything other than show and companion dog.

    Tried at an early stage with my first litter.
  2. How many dogs do you have?
    I have 1 male dog now. Mating puppy from Elisabet Jonsson, Kennel Lynx.
  3. Do you have interests other than animals?
    Dance, music, travel and exhibition.
  4. Do you have children, and have they inherited your interest in dogs?
    I have a grandson who has been very fond of the dogs and had them on many trips.
  5. What do you think about the future of the breed?
    I am a little worried that it has begun to mix Borzois with other breeds. I am personally very much against this.
  6. Have you been/are you a member of any race committees?
    I have chaired the Norwegian Borzoi Committee twice, and held other positions on the committee.
